Coffee with Cortney 5/17

CortneyMay 17, 2020

Welcome back to Coffee with Cortney! A blog series where I’ll answer your FAQs, chat about things near and dear to my heart or just share something that I want to discuss more in depth. This week I’m chatting about botox, home plans, and more! I’ll share a question box on my Instagram every so often for you to submit questions to be answered, but you can also leave them in the comments below. Let’s get this party started!

Q. I keep reading on social media to ‘subscribe’ so we don’t miss anything. How do I subscribe?

A. If you’re a fan of emails. I recommend subscribing to my newsletter! It’s sent once a week and rounds up all my posts from the previous week, sales, discounts and more! It’s never spammy and you can unsubscribe at anytime. If you’re interested in joining my newsletter, you can click here to subscribe!

Q. What book or bible study are you doing right now or do you recommend?

A. I highly recommend this book: Embraced 100 Devotions to Know God is Holding You Close. I also recently shared a post about studying the Bible for beginners, read it here. If you’re caught up on that post you can also check out some of my favorite scriptures shared in my 10 Inspiring Quote for a Tough Time and see the Worship Song Favorites I shared last week! I’d love any other requests you guys have for Bible/Faith related blog posts, you can leave them in the comments below!

Q. What are some special things you’re doing while building your house?

A. I am so blessed to be able to build this home for my family and it’s something I always want to remember. This year has been so crazy, it’s nice to have an escape and fun project to work on. One of my favorite things I’ve done so far is head to the house and write scriptures and prayers on the studs. Would you like to see a full blog post with more details of our scripture writing? Let me know! Knowing that God’s message is part of the bones of our home makes me so happy. I also am making sure my children are involved in the process. I may get the final vote, but it’s so fun to see what their opinions are and what they would choose for our home. One of the spaces I’m really excited about is our gardenWe’ve already been working on it some and it’s such a fun, family time.

Q. I know this is a super personal question and off topic but do you do any Botox or fillers? I’m looking to have Botox to raise my eyebrows! I’ve gotten microblading done several times but I’m still not able to get the arch of the brow as high as I’d like it. If that makes sense. I’ve also had Botox in the forehead area for migraine treatments.

A. While I don’t think any woman needs botox or procedures to be beautiful, I am all for you doing what you want, especially if it makes you feel your absolute best! I like to be open and honest with you guys, so I’m happy to share. Getting botox is a personal choice and something I like to do for myself. Please do not feel I am saying you need it by any means, but if you’re interested I recommend looking into it! I go to Dr. Alisha Armstrong at Premier Med Spa. I love Dr. Armstrong, I trust her opinion and know she will never try to oversell anything. If you’re in the Chattanooga area, I recommend checking her out!

As far as what I have had done, I have had botox and lip injections. Botox is a great preventative option to wrinkle free skin and makes me feel so fresh.  I get Botox in my forehead, this helps smooth lines, tighten my skin and slightly lift my eyebrows. For my lips, we did a full syringe of Juviderm Ultra Plus. It lasted 9 months for me! I will share some before and after photos below.

Thanks so much for popping in today! I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my week. I love being able to answer some commonly asked questions here for you guys.

I love your blog and you’re so genuine. I’ve always wanted to have bigger lips but was afraid they would turn out too big 😀. Do you get this done every 9 months and if you’d one mind me asking is it expensive. Also I love the no wrinkles in my forehead how often do you have to do that?

Thank you so much! I normally go every 9-12 months to get my lips done. Premier Medical Aesthetics where I go charges $300 for a mini and $600 for a full. I get Botox once a year or so. 🙂

Would you be willing to talk about hair tutorials on the blog? I struggle with having oily or greasy looking hair when applying products even in small amounts. Please help!

That’s a great idea! There are amazing products for oily scalp! I suggest the mint shampoo which minimizes oil production, the boar bristle brush which evenly distributes the oils in your hair to hydrate your ends, and dry shampoo to train your hair to go longer between washes which will also help reduce oil production! 💜
