Coffee with Cortney 6/21

CortneyJune 21, 2020

Welcome back to Coffee with Cortney! A blog series where I answer frequently asked questions, popular topics or anything weighing heavy on my heart. Today I am back talking about MLM and the harder sides to my job and dishing a little about my relationship and future. Let’s get started!

Q: What are the hard sides to doing your job and how do you handle those?

A: While Instagram can make everyone look like they always have it together and are killing it in life, I hope you all know that that is not anyones reality. I wear many different hats for my businesses and they all have their hard days. One that I definitely face most is leading a team of people and making sure that everyone is taken care of/stressing about their quality of life. And another is not setting enough time to the side for my personal life and enjoying time off without stressing. I think most business owners can agree that days off are hard to enjoy but it is so very important for your mental health.

Q: I tried MLM and got burnt out and gave up. Have you ever gotten burned out and considered quitting?

A: I definitely think making sure that you are with the right MLM company is a huge part of being successful and not burning out in this type of industry. I was truly passionate about learning how to do make up and hair to feel better about myself as well as helping and teaching other women just like me. I definitely have my hard days but these are things that I truly enjoy waking up and doing every single day and the longer I show up, the more amazing women I meet and that honestly keeps me fueled to keep on going! Q: Would you want to get married again? You and Adam are my favorite

A: Thank you lol, he definitely is a keeper and I know that for sure. My heart is definitely not closed off from marriage forever but I truly am just praying over our relationship and our individual futures without putting too much pressure on what our next steps “should” be. God knows our paths and will lead us to where he desires us to be, ultimately.

As always, thank you for joining me at my favorite little virtual coffee shop around. I cannot wait to chat next week and answer some of your FAQ. Be sure to leave anything you want to know in the comments on this post and I will get them added to the list.

You are beautiful and SO comfortable in your own skin. How did you get to that point?

I began to love myself, even if who I am doesn’t impress everyone. If other people can’t except me, that is their problem, not a problem with who God creates me to be. Once I accepted this is who God made me to be, and if others have problems with it they can ask God gave me cellulite and this body type. I have hard days where I’m hard on myself just like everyone else does. But I refuse to let it steal my joy!

Uhm, can we be best friends?! 🤣

I love reading your blog and following along with your life. You have been inspiring to me as I come to find a relationship with Jesus, and to just find myself, really. I’ve never been comfortable in my own skin, and after having 5 babies (11 years down to 2), transitioning to a stay at home mom, losing my dad, navigating marriage struggles, and being in constant pain for years, I’ve found a light! ♡
I finally got diagnosed with hip dysplasia a few months ago and have a plan in place! Party time!
But, I look in the mirror and it’s as though I have no idea who I am. I hate seeing photos, except selfies, because I feel unrecognizable. Like, that’s not me! 😬
Do you have any tips, tricks, advice, or guidance as to how to learn to love the skin you are in? Deeply…
To actually make the change and accept your reflection, without judgment.
I have 4 girls. This momma has got to figure this out! 🤣❤

    Hi, Cortney,

I am on a journey to become closer to the Lord, but like a lot of Christian women trying to navigate their way in these troubling times, I am not sure what a solid relationship with God actually looks or feels like. What steps have you taken on your personal journey? How do you pray? How do you communicate your needs and concerns to God? Who/What inspires you to stay faithful? Thank you for taking the time to read my post!
