Coffee with Cortney 7/12

Happy Sunday! Welcome back to Coffee with Cortney. My favorite little virtual coffee shop where I answer FAQs, share things I am going through or talk about topics that are heavy on my heart. Last week I chatted all things hair, this week I’m diving into some common DMs I’ve received this month. Let me know if there’s a specific question or topic you want me to cover on Coffee with Cortney, leave it in the comments or send me a message on Instagram (@CortneyWheeler)!

Q. Your makeup always looks so smooth and flawless. What are some tips you have for those who are struggling with makeup?

A. First, I think the type of products you use are a huge help in flawless skin! You can shop some of my favorite looks here. In addition to some great makeup, I SWEAR by at home dermaplaning. It seems scary and taboo but it is seriously a game changer.  It’s super easy to do. First, start by ordering these face razors and don’t worry, your hair will not grow back thicker or darker! Next, hold your skin tight and gently move the razor down your face. It removes peach fuzz and dead skin! I actually have a video where I show you how here

Q. I love your faux glow! What product do you use? How long does it take to dry? Does it stay on well? Is it easy to apply?

A. Thank you! I use Pasty Girl Tan, if you want to try it for yourself you can shop the tanning mousse here, Use code ‘Cortney10’ to save! I absolutely love it. It’s easy to apply, stays on well and never looks orange or streaky. It doesn’t take long to dry at all and never transfers to my sheets. It’s my favorite self-tanner I’ve tried!

Q. Just have to say, you inspire me to embrace my curves and I really love that! So many influencers are size 2 and it’s hard not to get caught up in that. Any tips or tricks for dressing your body?

A. I completely understand – whatever size God made you is perfect! If it’s a size 0 or a size 24, you are beautiful and should celebrate that! Life is too short to worry about what others think of your size. That was one of the reasons I was inspired to launch my online boutique, Jane & Kate. Jane & Kate embraces women of all shapes and sizes, offering products that work for every body type. Be sure to check it out online and follow along on Instagram, so you never miss new arrivals!

Q. I always look forward to your stories and lives. You are just a genuine person and I really appreciate that! God really has given you a gift to talk about life and him with your devotionals. Any verses, quotes or things really speaking to you lately?

A. Wow, you know how to make a girl feel special! I love connecting with you all on social media, it truly makes my heart so happy. And to be able to share my love for God and His amazing gifts? That’s a true treasure. This is a great devotional, one of my all time favorites! Also, know I am the type of person who always struggles with anxiety. I have to make an effort to turn towards God each day and choose to trust His plan. Below are a few quotes that help me when I’m having a rough day. Feel free to save and use as a screensaver or share on your Instagram stories! Tag me so I can see + share.

I love watching your videos and your devotionals. You have really touched my heart and have made me realize that I need to treat myself. I do so much for everyone else that I let myself go. I have ordered me some hair products and the Le vete. I can’t wait to try them out. I have ordered a few things on janeandkate too. Now I am browsing for some makeup!!!

As a mom of 3, a 14 year old daughter and 4 year old twin boys, I get lost in the daily perpetual motion of taking care of everyone. Your videos make me see I can take time for me and I love your devotionals. They have inspired me to draw closer to God. Thank you for what you do to empower women. You truly do inspire me.
