Hot Tool Guide

CortneySeptember 1, 2020

You guys know I’m a huge fan of my hot tools – wands, flat irons and everything in between! I love mixing it up, having fun and trying new styles – but it can be overwhelming! Today I’m sharing a Hot Tool Guide for all the tools you need for your dream hair. I’m breaking down four of my most used tools and how to use them!

This guide covers every tool you need to achieve everything from sleek, shiny locks to bouncy, bombshell curls. It may seem intimidating at first, but I promise each of these affordable hot tools are easy to use, safe for your hair and will help you achieve whatever dream look you have up your sleeve!

BOMBSHELL WAVES WITH THE ONDULÉ

SHOP THE ONDULÉ HERE

First up is the Ondulé curling wand. This wand is perfect for creating smooth, bombshell waves in one easy motion! Titanium ensures even heat distribution and salon quality styling. To use this wand, you take a small section of hair and wrap around the wand towards the back of your head – carefully holding the tip of your hair. Let sit for about 15 seconds and then release! To create a wave look, start by using larger sections and not wrapping as many times around the wand.

BOUNCY CURLS WITH THE LE PERLE

SHOP THE LE PERLE HERE  – FREE LE PERLE WHEN YOU SPEND $49 SITEWIDE. USE CODE: PERLE

Bouncy curls will always be a favorite in my book. Plus, they’ve never been easier with this bubble wand! Say hello to Le Perle. This fool proof wand is perfect for beginners or experts. Using it is so simple, all you do is take small sections of hair and wrap it around the wand, following the pattern of the bubbles. Hold for a few seconds and then unwind to reveal beautiful, bouncy curls! I love this wand so much, I have a whole blog post about it! Read it here.

BOHO WAVES WITH THE LE WAVER

SHOP THE LE WAVER HERE

One of the new tools, the Le Waver is fun and easy to use! This tool works like a clamp, moving over your hair to create beautifully waved sections that are boho, full of volume and so trendy. While the Ondulé creates a classic, bombshell wave, these tend to be more effortless, undone and tousled. To use, start by holding the Le Waver horizontally, insert a 1” – 2” section of hair between the plates. Press down gently, hold for approximately 5 seconds and release (the longer the hair is pressed, the more defined your waves will be). Repeat down the length of the hair, starting where you left off with the previous press. Once finished, let sit for a moment and then tousle with your fingers!

SLEEK STRAIGHT WITH THE LE DUO

SHOP THE LE DUO HERE

While this hot tool is technically a flat iron, it actually doubles as a curling iron as well! The Le Duo has an easy to use clamp + tiny air vents to lock in whichever style you choose. To use as a curler, squeeze clamp to open plates and insert section of hair (I recommend 1″). Gently slide toward the bottom of your hair, slowly turning your hand to create a curl motion. To use as a straightener, squeeze the clip to open the plates. Insert a 1” – 2” section of hair, starting at the roots. With your non-dominant hand, grasp the cool tip of the tool and slide from root to tip.

Which hot tool do you use the most?! It’s so hard to pick a favorite. If you don’t own the Le Perle, I highly recommend snagging one while it’s on sale! Want more hair fun? See all my hair posts here.
