Holy moly, the day is finally here. We have moved into the house and slowly but surely are getting things in order but it’s taking much longer then expected. At the beginning of this remodel, I had all of the intensions of looping you guys in on the progress and changes then having a magazine worthy reveal at the end but life happens and my house quickly went from a construction zone to a explosion of boxes everywhere as we had to move in in a hurry. I am still finding the best and most functional spots for things, looking for decor and adding final touches into making this our home but one area we are settling into just comfortably is the kitchen! Are you guys ready for the kitchen reveal?!
You guys may remember the before photos above from my “We Bought a House” post. It was dated, closed off from the entry and was not set up for a functioning family of 5 who loves to entertain and have friends and family over. I knew from the start, we had to rework the configuration so that it would be an open and flowing space into the sunroom. I wanted to keep things bright and airy but also add fun touches through hardware, lights and accent colors. The Lullaby by Sherwin Williams blue was the perfect shade to make this space pop and really set the tone for the rest of the finishes.
Functionality was something I wanted to keep at the front of our mind when designing our kitchen. We opted for many deep drawers that can hold pots and pans, serving ware and keep things easy to find rather than traditional cabinets and shelves. We also added drawer dividers in utensil drawers which helps so much in keeping things in their place and easily accessible when cooking.
I am still playing around with the styling of the shelves and we are still waiting for a few finishing pieces but overall this space has been a dream of mine for so long that regardless of all the hurdles and changes during the renovation, I am beyond humbled to call this space mine. I mean, I have a pot filler! That’s when you know you’re officially old. Lol!
