Day 1028928829 in the house, I know you Mamas understand. This year has been a whirlwind of new experiences and emotions. Learning new routines, taking on new jobs, going through life as we never have before. I feel you! While it hasn’t been easy, I’ve created a new daily routine filled with Quarantine Activities for Kids and of course I am going to share with you guys!
How are you doing this whole Quarantine/Safer at Home time? I see a lot of different things on social media – moms who are loving it, moms who are struggling, moms who are staying silent. No matter what you are feeling, it is ok! This is a whole new time. Maybe you’re a stay at home mom, but suddenly you can only stay home. No playdates. No outings to museums. No going the playground. So while you’re technically staying home with your kids, it’s suddenly completely new. Maybe you’re a working mom. Trying to balance so many new roles. Learning to work from a new place while caring for your family and household during a scary time. No matter what your new role is, know you’re not alone Mama! We will get through this.
One thing to keep in mind, is your kids won’t remember all the craziness happening. They’ll remember having more time with their family, more time having fun, more time trying new things! Keep that in mind and give yourself grace. You’re doing the absolute best you can and that’s all that matters.
And maybe that best includes running out of ideas. Don’t worry, I’m here to help! I am rounding up some Quarantine Activities for Kids that your family will love. Check out our favorites below:
+ Bored? Break out the Board Games! I don’t know about you, but we have a closet collecting dust with all the board games we were sure we would play all the time, yet never really see the light of day. Now is their moment to shine! Vote on a game or draw out of a hat and make an evening out of it! TV off, phones down and game night as a family. It’s a great, family-friendly distraction.
+ ABC Day –
+ Field Day – Remember when you were younger and you would spend a day at the end of the year full of outdoor activities? Recreate that at home! Pick a pretty day and think of four or five games and activities. You can do tug-a-war, obstacle courses, sack races, etc.
+ Crafts – This one comes in handy on those rainy days, I love keeping a stash of crafts for us to try something new. Check out my Amazon Storefront for all our favorite crafts.
+ Repurpose – I had so many empty boxes lying around so we got creative! We turned them into a DIY Ice Cream Truck and decorated it. Not only did it take up a ton of time building and decorating, the kids loved playing with it for days.
+ Wild Explorer’s Club – We joined the Wild Explorer’s club, the first two weeks are free but my kids enjoyed it so much we continued! It gives you weekly things to do and activities to try, which is especially nice when my brain is completely out of ideas.
+ Being Outside – We love spending as much time outside as possible with this beautiful Spring weather! It may seem silly because it’s so simple but my kids love playing with sidewalk chalk, collecting bugs, working in the garden and just running around. Sometimes they have the most fun when I step back and let them entertain themselves.
What fun ideas have you come up with? Please leave them in the comments below so I and others can see! I’m always looking for something new and fun. If you try any of these tag me on Instagram so I can see. You can also follow me on Pinterest for more fun!
